			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I think the future holds a lot more automation for knowledge management.  I think in the future its going to be a lot more specific and each and every individual will have the knowledge to help you when you call customer service.  I think at this point there are too many transfers.  Who knows it may just be automated, asking you to push numbers to determine your problems and then a computer automated response and solution will be told and emailed to you.  This would be something that I would think we are no that far from, seeing as many places are already starting to implement this.  I think they are trying this becuase it will cut down on their costs and allow them to have a lot more customers that are 100% satisfied, since these computers will seemingly have all the knowledge necessary.</p>
<p>I remember once I had a problem with my Gateway computer, maybe 5 or 6 years ago and customer service for some reason was unable to help me through my problems.  I then went online and had a chat with an online technician and this person was able to help me through my problem after quite a while.  It seemed like these people just had a book in front of them with possible problems and possible solutions and they were just going through the book and telling me to try random ones, in the hopes that one of them would work.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Looking at the stie for BERG outdoor toys, which is a B2B site, they are clearly trying to show their products as a whole are sustainable and the best of the best.  They have a lot of information on how many countries they span, and how many distributors there are and how many places sell their items.  This is very important when trying to sell to another business becuase you want them to feel that your brand is trusted.   They also show a lot fo their product lines, showing puictures of thigns being built to show the detail that is paid to quality.  They have endless places to contact them, which makes it easier for a could be dealer to just send that email to find out whats going on. </p>
<p>On a B2C site like Toys&#8217;r&#8217;us, you see a much different layout.  They&#8217;re site is broken down into much more categories, you can search for specific items, its much more personal on this site.  They try to help you find what you&#8217;re looking for by making catergories as specific as possible.  THis site is geared towards getting customers to shop on their site, theres no need for outside emails and such to make a sale.  The main focus of this site is to get the customer what they want.  They have large banners and advertisements showing the lastest deals and sales. The want you to create an account to be able to track your purchases and make future sales easier for you. </p>
<p>Unlike the B2B site the B2C site is a lot more specific.  They are geared towards selling and deals, it would seem a lot more than the BERG toy manufacturer site. The B2C is a lot more in depth and specific.  On the B2B site there is a lot more information about accomplishments and what they are about unlike the B2C site where the advertisements and deals are the main way they let the customer know what they are about. </p>
<p>On&nbsp;<a href="http://manhattanreefs.com" title="http://manhattanreefs.">manhattanreefs.com</a> over the course of a week, the administrators are learning a lot about you.  They learn about what your buying, where you spend most of your time on the site, what you know, what you&#8217;re interested in.  They see who you are interacting with and what you seem to keep coming back for.  They can also track how much you are making on the site or how much money you are spending.  They can see what you have looked through and what areas you never make it into.</p>

<p align="justify">Panel data is the most useful because it has a source of data that is unambiguous, it creates a single person rather than 2 people that it would be on a server log if the same person works from home and work, and lastly a firm can collect behavioral and demographic data. Server log, coded page, and panel data have in common that they all store and retrieve data. The differences are that server log cannot be immediately processed like panel or coded pages. Coded pages are logged in pixels where as server log is recorded in hits. Server log records the same person as two different persons in different locations, panel and coded can get rid of this problem and recognize the same person, this allows for more accurate data. Data collected by coded can be processed in real time and server log data cannot be. Data collected in coded pages is through cookies unlike server log information.</p>
<p align="justify">Traffic is measured in hits, impressions, page views, sessions, and click-throughs. Audience is measured in visitors, behavior on the site( number of page views, session time, path through the site, shopping cart abandonment, and entry page or where they enter the site from). Campaign measures the effectiveness of marketing efforts, such as communication channels( email, mail, online banners) and by offers( like free shipping or coupons). These have to be measured during a specified time and by other metrics such as number of views per month, the hits for each hour of a day and average number of visit’s a day, just to name a few.</p>
<p>A single campaign can have endless variables. A single can have many reports in a single category. You can then break it down further, choosing the specific time in which you want to see a report for. You can also view reports in browser format, where you can view many things such as sites visitors came from, affiliates, and newsletters, this can be found on panels on the web browser. All of the measures are obtained from the users activity. It is collected from before the user enters the site, where they enter from, what they do on the site, how the go through it, and when they terminate their use.</p>

This plays a tremendous role in customer service delivery, because it creates less time wasted on the phone and the customer can immediately have their problem fixed. This is huge because people don’t have time to just sit around in the moment and wait for someone to find a solution to their problem on the spot, the call the customer service lines in the hopes that their problem can be fixed immediately. It takes 3 steps, building customer scenarios, making sure the solution is there before the customer asks, and lastly creating a process for finding that solution for any particular customer without having to dig through other problems.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The consumer adoption process is are the accepted stages that a customer goes through when they see a new product or service.<span>  </span>The stages they go through are, awareness, developing interest, prepurchase evaluations, trying the product either as a purchase or marketing promotion, these past stages are reffered to as the trial.<span>  </span>The stages after the trial are if the consumers continues to purchase and use the item or service, and then if the customer makes it an intergral part of their lifestyle.<span>  </span>The concept of diffusion of innovations is different because it has four elements, innovation, communication channels, time and the social system where the innovation is spreading.<span>  </span>It is also different because it is spread across an axis, with the X being the time and the y being the number of adopters.<span>  </span>It is also different because it is spread across as bell curve distributed around a population mean.<span>  </span></p>
<p>Pervasive computing simply put is enabling people to do more things while on the go which will help them along with their daily lives.<span>  </span>It is likely to change the way things are marketed because now as the technology develops there are going to more and more advertisments and marketing promotions that are going to be available on peoples mobiles and other electronic devices that are used in day to day life.<span>  </span>It will create something called mobile commerce(m-commerce) on any of the new smart devices.<span>  </span></p>
<p>The strategic drivers that are going to push adoption of this technology are; context(the information the customer needs or wants at a specific time) which has 2 dimensions, localization(sending information relevant to the area the user is in) and personalization(user can select type and frequency of information). The is also Time Sensitive, is marketing to the customer when the customer needs it, not when the marketer wants to.<span>  </span>High Value, the marketing effort has to have reasonable value to be effective.<span>  </span>Voice activation, solution to having to type while driving.<span>  </span>One click payment, a system that creates and account for<span>  </span>user so they don’t have to send CC info wirelessly.<span>  </span>Security, to make sure that all transactions are safe. Privacy to know that all personal data provided is secure and will no be abused by marketers.<span>  </span>Lastly Expanded permission marketing, creating a database that is more than opt-in, they need to have it up to date and find out what exactly it is a single user wants and needs.<span>  </span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today in class the first thing we discussed was what Prof. Wymbs wanted for our groups to send to him through e-mail.  After that we discussed he strengths of a company named Zara.  The company has strength because it employs fashion experts as employees and their staff basically becomes their market research team.  Also they are good at what they do because they stay one step ahead of the customer, so the customer always comes back for the most up to date styles.  On the other hand apple creates value for their customers by being trendy, having high differentiation, they have an efficient easy to use design and they are leading the way with their products.  Lastly we spoke about Dell, they manage their supply chain as a single organization and have close customer relationships.  The always provide cost control which increases the value to the customer and they are targeting global growth.  Also we talked a little more about RFID, which is radio transmitter technology that could be used to potentially keep  virtual inventory for large and small companies.</p>
