This just might be better than winning the lottery! Steve Demeter developed Trism, an application for iPhone, and earned $250,000 in just two months. Barriers are at a all time low thanks to big name companies like Apple who have started to give hobby-developers easy, low cost ways to create on hardware. Once upon a time, this sort of access was only granted to major game makers. Demeter quit his banking job to open a development studio where he is working on five new games.

Good news for small city dwellers! Soon enough, they too will be able to enjoy some of the perks we’ve grown accustomed to in the Big Apple. Coffee shops, cafes, libraries, schools, parks – these are some of the places people have come to expect a free internet connection. As it is now, apartment complexes are using free wi-fi as an incentive to attract tenants in Mobile because the demand is there. Soon enough (I hope), with more and more hot spots popping up, paying for an internet connection will be a thing of the past.

The link above should take you to an article I found on wired.com. While the blogger describes many of the pros and cons of not having Adobe Flash available for iPhones, I still don’t see the relevance. I recently purchased an iPhone to streamline the number of gadgets I was carrying on a daily basis and to be able to sync my hectic schedule from my laptop to my phone. Honestly, it was the best $200 I ever spent. While there are some technical glitches here and there, no other phone compares. In fact, I was so convinced I actually terminated my contract with Verizon just to have all of the features of the iPhone. The idea of having Flash is alluring and I’m sure a deal isn’t far off, but I certainly don’t miss it.

I hate spam and I hate junk mail. In fact, any piece of mail I get that simply takes up space in my mailbox and has no purpose other than clutter gets a phone call asking to be removed from every mailing list (or a swift click on the opt-out link). My life is hectic and having trash pile up on my coffee table does not lessen anxiety. So imagine my shock when my new beloved iPhone received a text from “604-4″ suggesting AT&T could help with gift ideas this holiday season. All I needed to solve my holiday woes was to stop by an AT&T store or call the 1800 number. No deal, Howie! I quickly replied “stop” to opt out of future marketing messages. I didn’t expect AT&T to stoop so low; how disappointing.
