Today in class we talked about various ways to find the data that we need. Some of the ways customers get these ideas are purchasing them, census, research, survey, focus groups, and their own websites. Some ways are less expenssive than others. For example, having a census would be way more expensive than using the data from your website that you already have. We also talked about the steps for a testing process. What you do is first have reasons for conduction a test. You then design the test and establish certain cut offs. You then execute the test and then analyze and report the results that you get.

In class today we talked about how business developed different marketing strategies to keep certain customers around. Back in the day phone customers used to constantly have promotions to have customers switch to their carrier, but after a while customers just keep switching back and forth. They then developed a business model where customers must sign contracts in order to keep the customers on their carrier service. This was a good strategy to keep customers if they decide to be your customer

Today in class it was something pretty new and different. We first discusuess business models and main points of it. We went over value propositions of major companies such as Zara’s and Apple, and also identified their market segment. We then discussed the struchture chain which is the procedure from the manufacturer to their final consumers. The last step was the cost structure, which is the profit they receieve for each product. Then after all this we decided to divide into groups and discuss these four parts of the business models to a company or product of our choice. The topic we chose is vitamin water, which is pretty simple. This exercise helped us understand the terms alot better and helped us work together as a group
