Nissan rolls out budget Versa sedan; 1.6 L car priced below Accent; Toyota cuts production

According to The Toronto Star, in the battle for Canadian economy car buyers’ wallets, Nissan has announced its new 2009 Versa 1.6 Sedan with a list price of $12,498, making it the country’s least-expensive new car.

The article also states that Toyota will cut production on all its North American plants for two days next month (to adjust to the market) and delay further expansion plans. This action will take 9,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles out of Toyota’s inventory.
