My First Marketing Text Message

I hate spam and I hate junk mail.  In fact, any piece of mail I get that simply takes up space in my mailbox and has no purpose other than clutter gets a phone call asking to be removed from every mailing list (or a swift click on the opt-out link).  My life is hectic and having trash pile up on my coffee table does not lessen anxiety.  So imagine my shock when my new beloved iPhone received a text from “604-4″ suggesting AT&T could help with gift ideas this holiday season.  All I needed to solve my holiday woes was to stop by an AT&T store or call the 1800 number.  No deal, Howie!  I quickly replied “stop” to opt out of future marketing messages.  I didn’t expect AT&T to stoop so low; how disappointing.

It sucks but i’s notabout stooping low it’s all about making money. We all know you don’t get something for nothing but, when you are paying for it why the “like it’s free” treatment? Like Sunoco and their attempt to make more money they have added a new way to advertise with tv’s at the pump. It to them is not stooping it is a channel that we all have choosen to walk around with and they are so happy b/c they get to make more money from it. It is actually quite genious. just think about how it was in the 1900’s.
Also watch the movie Idiocracy (2006). We are soon to be living in it.
