Traditional business- looking up cars. Using the internet? Buying Airfare, Paying Credit Cards, Buying Consumer Products. Internet Marketing- Customer Acquisition, Customer Conversion, Customer Retention, Customer Value Growth. Offline Channels- mass media, events, Sponsorship. Social & Regulatory- Privacy, security, SPAM-CAN, Pending Regulation, Interactive Channels- web based internet, email, wifi, kiosks & misc. Advertisting and Promotion- direct response, brand development. E-Commerce- b2b, b2c, b2g. Customer Service & Support- automated, human, preventative. Internet- customer satisfaction at almost zero cost. Moore’s Law- Computing power doubles and cost is cut in half. Metcalfe’s Law- power of the network increases geometrically w/ each new connection.
