Intelligibility in the Interview

This workshop is for Baruch students who are ready for the job market. In it, we will discuss the basics of clear, professional communication expected of you during an interview. Students will discuss and practice topics such as clearly pronouncing your name, interests and school, using small talk, and calming your nerves. You will also critique a short mock-interview for better perspective. This workshop is a must for nonnative speakers searching for internships or full-time employment.

Topics Covered:

Introductions, Names and Professional Titles

How to make appropriate small talk

Eye Contact, Handshakes, Behavior, etc.

Pronunciation of School, Major, Experience, Interests

Mock Interviews
