Racial Unity

Not always has it been ‘normal’ to see white people wear dreadlocks or black people dye their hair blonde and that is what the article “In Looks, a Sense of Racial Unity” talks about. During the 1990s, fashion trends associated with one racial group suddenly started transcending to others, creating a debate about whether colored contact lenses, certain social patterns, etc. were acceptable with all ethnicities. While for us nowadays it is suitable to wear whatever fits our personality, I think it is interesting to recognize that such has not always been the case.
