We have Yessenia, who likes to be called Jessie. She was born and raised in the South Bronx and now lives in Queens with her family. Jessie has a 5yr. old daughter named Kaitlyn . Jessie’s family is from Puerto Rico and her husband is from Haiti. Together they make an intense fiery couple with different tastes in food, music, and dance. Jessie strides to making a better future for herself and family by achieving her main goal and graduating next spring. There’s Ivan, a Brooklyn native entering his 3rd year here at Baruch College majoring in Journalism with an intense passion for baseball and video games. Once a finance major, he realized he was wasting his time sleeping through all these accounting and finance classes and went on to pursue his dream to become a baseball writer. He eats, breathes and sleep pinstripes with infamous New York Yankees navy blue blood flowing through his veins. With a very festive background from the Dominican Republic, he has a very distinct liking in food and music and will sure bring a unique sense of style to the group.
Thierry is an aspiring writer who loves food, cars, overpriced alcohol, tasteless humor and lives for the crassness of modern life. Originally an international finance major, Thierry quickly grew bored of the soul crushing idea of counting numbers and writing letters in order live the extravagant life he had seen on MTV once. So he decided to major in journalism in the hopes of getting others to pay for his expensive meals, satisfy his unquenchable thirst for micro-brewed beer and satisfy his inner wanderlust by writing about insanely fast cars.
Zhanna is russian. She came here not so long ago, and her heavy accent mixes up with a hospitable soul. She knows how to cook, she plays sports (mostly volleyball) and bartends, but does not drink.
Meet Yvonne, an Asian American who lives her life enjoying the arts. She believes life is lived through art and that art is a form of expression. Yvonne speaks fluent English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She calls herself a “munchie” because she enjoys sampling and tasting various snacks and cuisines. She plays the piano, clarinet, and violin. She lives each day filling her life with music, culture, and food. With a passion for the arts, she will never stop learning and will never stop finding ways to express herself.
Together JITZY hopes to bring you our own flavorful opinion on the food, film and music culture.

Sean Creamer is a hard working, motivated and witty writer…When he actually puts his mind to his work.
Currently in his final semester of his final year of college, Creamer is in the process of trying to find a job, find a cheap apartment and discover a way to write while you sleep.
“Think about it! you sleepwalk, why not sleep type?” said Creamer one night when the booze took a nasty hold of his thought process.
Sean has been a writer for a few years now and has worked on student publications, real world weekly newspapers, a food blog and is now a ghost writer for a professor at Baruch College.
“Yea, all that stuff is sick, but I bet you’ve never seen someone fall asleep at a Judas Priest concert,” Creamer disclosed while washing his turbo powered 2002 Hyundai Elantra.
Yes, one of his main hobbies is falling asleep at any point he can. If you ever catch him on the streets, ask him about the time he went to the Caribbean.
“I slept the whole time.”
Besides writing and sleeping, Sean partakes in skateboarding on the dingy streets of Manhattan, rock climbing at Central Park and going to the Metropolitan to watch recorded operas for free.
“It is so loud that I can hardly keep my eyes closed.”
Sean is looking forward to blogging with you all this semester and hopes that he can stave off sleep long enough to actually garner some real coverage and not write stories based upon dreams he had while sleeping at events.
Emmy, a seasoned music/broadcast journalist, fashion and celebrity pr executive from London, decided to start her own blog last year.
It was a means to stay connected with friends and family, and documents her experience as an ‘English girl in New York’. Since arriving in the city, she continues to be inspired by it’s eclectic style mavens, world class restaurants and youthful creative talent. When not booking Hip Hop talent for The Hudson Hotel or discovering a new vintage clothing store in soho, she can be found amongst the coffee and cupcakes in Bed Stuy and is delighted to be able to call Brooklyn home.
Gari is one of the most random guys you’ll ever meet. The type that would be on the sofa watching Netflix one week and at a beach in Brazil the next. Gari loves to travel and so far has been to Jamaica, Sweden, Germany, Turkey, Kosovo, Spain, London, France and Canada (yes, he even includes Canada even though its like right there next to America). Oh and an interesting thing, Gari lived in Germany for four years and doesn’t speak German. He also was in the Army for five years and can’t read a map. All in all, he’s a cool guy that loves life and is all about new experiences, oh and I can’t forget he’s a self proclaimed foodie that loves to travel to different states and try their signature dishes, as long as they don’t smell bad or taste nasty.
As a native Yorker, Malynda was raised on New York City culture. She feels just as at home uptown or down, as she is hiking the green mountains of Vermont.
She enjoys food, books, running, yoga and biking around the city.
As an antique dealer, she loves discovering a great deal. She scours the city, basements and even an occasional dumpster to find unique relics from the past. She would love to share her best New York City finds with you.

Some of us might be new to the blogging scene, but it doesn’t mean we don’t have a lot to bring to the table. In our own unique way we have the perfect elements for a class focused on blogging (social networks), food, film, and music.
Here’s our breakdown of who we are and what we have to offer:
ELIZABETH is a senior majoring in business journalism with a minor in English. She was born in the Dominican Republic and came to the United States when she was 6 years old. Today she has many diverse interests such as watching Asian dramas, reading books and writing. All of which can be related to blogs and classify as a form of entertainment. Because she is completely in love with books, she has worked for the library for five years and in the future hopes to use her degree to write about the things that she loves. While she already blog about her interests, she is taking this course to help her improve her writing for her personal blog and to have a competitive advantage, as journalism is speedily transitioning from print to digital. She hopes to use her writing to reach out to the world and open up their minds to the possibilities.
JESSE: loves traveling, all types of food, and is always down for a new experience. Fun fact: He is 100% Chinese but can barely speak Cantonese at all. His interests include basketball, baseball, and somewhat football. He plays for a local travel team as well as several church and urban professional leagues. He also dabbles in a wide variety of hobbies such as online gaming, hiking, shopping, and sneaker collecting. His iPod is filled with Waka Flocka, Rick Ross and various other artists which is why the music aspect of the class is intriguing for him. His Asian background has given him knowledge of several Asian foods, which he hopes to share. He is also actively on Instagram @J_killa491
VIVIAN: is a junior majoring in Marketing with a minor in Journalism. She has passion for everything digital and is fascinated by how essential this aspect of technology has become to journalism from news broadcasts to magazines. Bloggers are now considered major influencers in the world of fashion, media, and entertainment. She wants to learn the essence of what bloggers really do in order to understand why their demand has increased. She is actively on Twitter (@vmati) with a semi-strong understanding of how important it is to networking. Spending a semester focusing on blogging, social media, and expanding my blogging skills will be great!
JULIYA: usually goes left when you think she’s going to go right. She is a professional Chef, writer, and known dabbler in all things explorative and handy. She is an alumnus of the French Culinary Institute and current Senior at Baruch (Journalism/ Creative Writing with a Minor in Natural Sciences. She loves cooking, dining, music, dancing, traveling, writing, painting and socializing with family, friends and the like. Juliya is weird, period. Here, you will get to experience things through her senses.
