The lack of Odysseus’s presence in Telemachos’s childhood negatively affects his growth. Due to the lack of a father figure during his growing years, Telemachos does not grow up to resemble the son of a heroic Trojan warrior. Instead of possessing traits of bravery, intelligence, and heroism, Telemachos displays traits of fearfulness and cowardice. In The Odyssey, according to Telemachos, “He’s gone, no sign, no word of him; and I inherit/ trouble and tears- and not from him alone,” (Homer, Ι, 279-80). Telemachos refers to his father, Odysseus, complaining that Odysseus left Telemachos and his mother to fight his fights. Telemachos believes that his father’s problems were innate and now he has to defend them. Also, he has more issues that the gods have put forth to him. This depicts how cowardly Telemachos is because he cannot defend his own home and puts the blame on Odysseus. He does not grow up to be a man but instead a lost young boy who does not even know if his father exists due to the lack of a father figure. In addition, Telemachos states that, “they use/ our house as if it were a house to plunder” (Homer, Ι, 285-86). Here, he refers to the suitors that have taken advantage of Zeus’s law of hospitality by over staying there welcome at his home. The suitors do as they please. Each of whom are there to attempt to marry Odysseus’s wife, Penelope. Telemachos is afraid of the suitors because during his growth no one was around to teach him how to become a warrior. Thus, he cannot get them to leave because no one pays attention to what he has to say. The lack of Odysseus’s presence affected Telemachos’s growth because no man respect Telemachos even though he is the son of Odysseus because his father was not there to teach Telemachos how to become like him.

The image above is a picture of a slithering snake. A snake is stealthy and quick when striking its prey. However, the snake above is not just any ordinary snake. This is a two-headed snake or as I like to call it a two-faced snake. This snake symbolizes a person who is a liar and a backstabber, hence the two heads. A two-faced person is a two-timer and usually acts differently when in conversation with one. However, is the complete opposite and says something completely different behind ones back. Therefore, this two-headed snake symbolizes a two-faced person because one head is a front or disguise for the other.

According to the English Dictionary, paradise is heaven at the ultimate abode or state of the righteous. Well, what does that actually mean? What I am trying to say is that there is no concrete definition for paradise. Paradise is defined differently by everyone in every way. What someone may consider paradise may be reality to another (Even some things of in life I consider to already be paradise such as my family). That is why my version of paradise is like no other because everyone’s paradise is unique in its own way.

My paradise is a place full of peace and harmony. A magical place where everything one has ever dreamed of comes true at the snap of ones fingers. A place where the birds sing delightful tones and where there is not one single cloud in the sky. A place where labor does not even exist (lets be real, even in paradise we know that is not possible). Where instead of waterfalls you have chocolate falls. Instead of roads paved with grabble; the roads would be paved in gold. At this place, everyone would have there own ultimate abode surrounded with gardens full of flowers. The people inhabiting this place would be friendly and courteous to no ends. The people would also be thoughtful and helpful.

Once at this place, one feels stress free because all the worries have been taken care of. One does not have to worry about paying the bills, putting food on the table or whether or not they are going to lose their job. Their only job would be to enjoy themselves to the fullest. Since we only live once we might as well live the way we all dreamed of.

Thus, to me, paradise is not just tropical beaches but instead paradise to me is just a place.
