Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program
Community Service Opportunity for Baruch College Honor Students
I am please to inform you about a great opportunity for you to earn community service hours as well as gaining experience. For the past several years, Baruch Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program has become well-known for being the largest VITA program run by students in the metro area. Just this past tax season, Baruch VITA claimed over $5.7 million in tax refunds and prepared more than 6,100 tax returns. The best part about Baruch VITA is that we welcome all majors, no minimum GPA requirements, no prior experience or tax knowledge necessary! Our services are free of charge and so are the trainings, we just ask for dedicated students!

Turkish Philanthropic Fund (TPF)
Turkish Philanthropic Fund (TPF) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) public charity established in 2007 with the aim of making Turkish and American donors’ philanthropic needs a reality. TPF is a platform in which American philanthropists can donate to nonprofit organizations in Turkey and receive tax benefits they would not have received otherwise by donating directly to the organization. Hence, TPF has two main tasks- receiving donations and making grants.
As the organization continues to grow, they are in need of volunteers to help with office related tasks- mainly updating current database to reflect the most recent information on their contacts. TPF would like to invite any Baruch College Honors Program student who would like to fulfill their community service requirement in their office to express interest.
They are located in Midtown East, conveniently near major lines of transportation. Space for volunteers to work in the office is provided. TPF anticipates the current volunteer project to be completed in 10-15 hours but would like any amount of commitment possible. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Gulsah Senol at gulsah@tpfund.org.
