STARR Career Development Focus Groups
Dear Students,
The Starr Career Development Center seeks to provide the highest quality service for Baruch College students. We are continually reviewing our workshop offerings and trying to assess their effectiveness. In an effort to evaluate the seminars, we will be conducting a series of focus groups with our students. We would love your feedback about how to improve our workshops!
Would you be willing to meet for approximately 60-90 minutes with 10-12 of your classmates and a representative from the Starr Career Development Center to discuss your experience in our workshops? We are interested in your honest impression of the workshops – what works and what does not work. Please be assured that nothing you say will be revealed. Even your participation in the focus group will remain confidential. If you have never attended a workshop, we would still value your opinion on how best to market them to the Baruch student population and what topics we should consider adding to our existing schedule.
As a token of our gratitude, your participation will make you eligible for a raffle drawing to win one of several $25 gift cards to be used at the bookstore. Please reply to Lisa.OConnor at baruch.cuny.edu and state the dates and times that work best for you. Since we anticipate focus group slots filling up quickly, please indicate your first and second choices, and we will attempt to schedule you at one of your preferred times. Thank you for your consideration.

Wednesday, December 02, 2009 12:30-2:00pm

Improve your communication skills
Management theorists have said time and again that intelligence without proper communication skills is not a winning combination for employees. Good communication skills will help you land a job and then keep that job.You can’t beat the facts–no matter how smart you are: If you can’t communicate, you’re going to have trouble.
The Macaulay Business Club and Macaulay Literati Club present to you two professionals who will guide you through specific communication situations and advise on how to smoothly navigate through them.
The event will take place on Wednesday November 18th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Macaulay Honors College building located on 35 West 67th Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. If interested, please RSVP at http://www.macaulay.cuny.edu/rsvp/?q=node/252
Food will be served.
