MHC Goldsmith Scholars Program (Sophomores and Juniors)

We are now accepting applications for the Horace W. Goldsmith Scholars Program—a long-standing internal enrichment at Macaulay which has assisted a great many of our students as they applied for scholarships, fellowships, graduate school and other opportunities.

The purpose of the Goldsmith Scholars Program is to identify and support Macaulay students for whom graduate education is an essential foundation of their aspirations. These high achieving students are then guided through their application process, with special emphasis on applying for national scholarships and fellowships to pursue graduate studies.

We are looking for students with a focused sense of their academic program and an innovative approach to their discipline. The specific field of study is less important than the passion, creativity, and initiative the student has demonstrated.

Goldsmith Scholars chosen in years past include David Bauer, Ryan Merola, Christine Curella, Kat Mateo, Stacey Korolkova, Lauren Talerman and Mark Barahman.

Goldsmith Scholars receive guidance on the graduate school and fellowship application processes, as well as coaching in personal essay writing and interviewing. Scholars benefit from hands-on instruction and mock-interviews with Goldsmith Scholars who have won major scholarships.

Current sophomores and juniors at Macaulay are invited to apply. The application deadline is November 18. More information is available on the Macaulay website: http://www.macaulay.cuny.edu/current-students/goldsmith-scholars.php
