In the 1880s, the people of American were worrying about trusts. Trusts were business that combined so they could reduce competition and control prices. Because of that, in 1890, President Harrison, along with Congress, passed the Sherman Anti-Trust Act. They then went after companies like Standard Oil and the U.S. Steel Corporation.

  1. The Sherman Antitrust Act was written by John Sherman and passed in 1890. John Sherman was a well known American. He served as Secretary of Treasury and as Secretary of State, and was also Senator of Ohio. John Sherman is very credible and obedient man. His act – Sherman Antitrust Act – put regulations and laws on corporations and companies. There are no monopolies now because of The Sherman Antitrust Act.
