Keith Haring

yulia.lavrentieva on May 9th 2012

Ever since the class went to the Keith Haring exhibit, I started seeing his “little people” everywhere. Today I was washing dishes and I picked up a pot scrubber and saw Keith Haring on it! Last week I went into a store and saw this “graffiti” everywhere. It’s really nice how Keith Haring managed to go from illegal graffiti to now having it everywhere as representations. In general, the little people brighten up my day because they look happy. I hope that makes sense. Hopefully I’ll see some more of Keith Haring soon!

When I first learned about Keith Haring it was in AP Art in High School, ever since then I’ve loved his work and see it all over the world even. I went to the Caribbean last year and seen replicas and T-Shirts of his work being sold by street vendors.

I was impressed by the story of his life. He was a great person and the ideas he supported are valid for today too. His drawings are amazing.

Those are all cute coincidences. I’ve yet to see anything else from him after the exhibit though. I’m still puzzled by that one picture with the pyramids, ufos and sticks that the museum guide asked us what we thought it was about….

I told my parents about the exhibit and they showed me a CD they had which had one of his drawings on the cover. I’ve noticed his work a lot more since the museum exhibit.
