Gloria, I’m really happy to hear that you are taking on responsibilities and commitments so willingly. The students who get the most out of their Baruch experience are the ones who are willing to get involved, and it’s good to see that you are doing that.

There is irony in the independence of college, because asking for help is a major part of college. In this case, the independence is more of a responsibility than a privilege because you need to know to ask for help when you need it.

I’m interested in your link between community and culture. How and why are the two related for you? And how would one create culture? What kind of culture would you be creating by volunteering at an organization?

Gloria, I’m sure you’re going to finish this semester with a great GPA and have all of Baruch’s resources at your fingertips! I hope freshman seminar is helping you find out more about Baruch’s resources. I’m glad you are appreciative (in hindsight) of your parents’ decisions to enroll you in Korean school.
