Executives

Want to get involved?

EOC offers many different programs that our mentors can participate in that fit into their availability and area of expertise. For example if you don’t have time to participate in our year-long  mentoring program, you can come to campus and be a mentor for just a morning or be a guest lecturer in the classroom!

To learn more how you can participate, please call the EOC office at 646-312-1340 or email J. McLoughlin at Jacqueline.McLoughlin@baruch.cuny.edu.

The Role of the Mentor
Both the mentor and the mentee are expected to take the initiative and learn and benefit from the mentoring experience. Mentors provide exceptional learning experiences for their mentees; they have the ability to lead, inspire and motivate their mentees by expanding their mentee’s awareness, insight & perspective.

The mentor needs to be comfortable with the student’s expectations and confident that s/he can meet the student, by realistically assessing his/her own time commitments and experience. In some cases, when a student has no clear goals, the mentor may need to identify the way that s/he feels s/he can best assist the student by offering some options.
